Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight video review

If you are looking for a basic, entry-level e-reader then the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight is a step-up from the basic Amazon Kindle. Here's our Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight video review. In this video review we assess the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight's design and build, it's software and specifications, and how easy it is to use. See also: Group test: what's the best e-reader?

At first we found the Nook quite chunky compared to the streamlined Kindle. However, after a couple of days we actually grew to like this feature and found it more comfortable to hold. The back-light is very useful in lowlight conditions, the touch screen makes it enjoyable to use and the social integration with Facebook and Twitter is a plus, as is being able to lend books to other Nook users.

The Nook Simple Touch GlowLight is Barnes and Nobles' own first e-ink-based reader that is able to be read in the dark, making it a certain rival for other e-readers such as the Kobo Glo and Kindle Paperweight.

B&N, an already formidable power in the US book market, is trying to gain a further foothold in the UK by releasing its new range of Nook eReaders and tablets over here. The Nook Simple Touch and Nook Simple Touch GlowLight are aimed at audiences who are old school literature fans and are designed purely for reading books, magazine and epublications. In our view, the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch GlowLight is a great eReader for all ages. Watch the video to find out why.
