Skype released its app for the Windows Phone operating system yesterday. The app replaced the beta version but lacks some key features and is only compatible with high-end devices. Unless Skype is in the foreground, a user can’t receive calls and a call may end if other notifications are received.
Microsoft pulled an Office for Mac 2011 update from its upgrade servers in response to bugs that target the Outlook database on some machines. Users reported problems with the upgrade when it was released two weeks ago. Microsoft stopped pushing out the SP2 update while it investigates the issue.
Adobe unveiled Creative Suite 6 and the Creative Cloud service today in an effort to revamp its collection of software. When available for purchase, the new suites can be paid through monthly installments. The cloud-based app will allow users to access to any CS6 tool over a broadband connection.
Dropbox updated its desktop, mobile, and Web app software to allow any file in a user’s sync folder to be shared with others via a Web-accessible link. Media content can be shared more easily with non-Dropbox users due to the new external Web-based preview application.
