Video: CES 2012: WowWee puts real toys in digital games

Toymaker WowWee has come up with a high tech version of dog fighting using augmented reality and an iPad.

Players first stick the paper plane onto the back of the iPad and then position and calibrate it with what’s seen on screen.

After that players enter an augmented reality world where they need to shoot down enemy fighters. There’s muzzle flashes from the plane when the machine gun fires and the enemy planes look like they’re flying around you in whatever room you’re playing in. You can also play in a completely virtual environment.

The planes, arm and stands cost 10 dollars and will be out in April.
