Video: Farmville developer makes games for Facebook and Google Plus

Farmville games developer announces a new play service and games for Facebook and Google Plus.

Zynga first launched games like Farmville and and Mafia Wars in 2007 and 2008 for play on facebook.

But the company announced plans to strike out beyond the established social media site and launch its own social share website, called “Project Z.” Once logged in, users can play a game with anyone else, around the world.

Zynga announced the new site Tuesday, where company leaders also touted new games like Castleville, which attendees got a sneak peak of. Also new: A hidden objects game called Hidden Chronicles, Dream Zoo and an updated Mafia Wars.

CEO Mark Pincus says he hopes the new games are used as they were designed—to be shared with friends.
