5. Download Sort

Although Download Sort can be a timesaver after it's all set up, you'll first have to create distinct rules for every file extension or keyword you want handled. It would be smoother to create one rule that could work for any image file, for example. But if you often find yourself sifting through a mess of files in your downloads folder, Download Sort can help you organize.

IE Commercial Remover is a light app that doesn't even require installation - if it had a frequently updated and large list of ad-producing domains, it'd be very useful.

3. Local Website Archive Lite

Local Website Archive Lite is free for personal use. There is a pro version which includes more advanced import, export, and editing functionality. Vendor Aignesberger Software GmbH provides a feature comparison at their website. Unlike many "lite" or "free" versions, Local Website Archive actually offers considerable functionality as-is and is not simply a "teaser" for a paid version.

2. Website-Watcher

Website-Watcher

  • RRP: €29

At €29 for the Basic version, it's very tough to say whether we'd recommend Website-Watcher. Although even the Basic version is useful, the lack of an auto-check feature is a deal-killer. Without the ability to check in the background, the utility of Website-Watcher drops a great deal. We'd heartily recommend the Basic version if it were free without that feature, but not at the current price.

Despite the printing shortcoming, iReader is an excellent tool for anyone who reads long articles on the web. iReader is much like a similar feature in Safari, so if you're also a Mac user or a PC user of Safari, you'll feel right at home using it.
