The best video-editing software you can install

5. Sony Vegas Pro 11
- Reviewed on: 11 January 12
- RRP: £369 inc. VAT
- Rating:

A powerful video editor takes great strides with GPU acceleration, but it needs to speed things up even more to compete with Adobe Premiere Pro.
4. LoiLoScope 2
- Reviewed on: 2 July 12
- RRP: £78 inc. VAT
- Rating:

As I said - exceedingly minor issues. You should take a look at LoiLoScope 2. Really. Do it even if you're satisfied with your current video editor. But be warned: Satisfaction with your reigning favorite may vanish in short order.
3. OpenShot
- Reviewed on: 20 June 11
- RRP: FREE
- Rating:

An easy-to-use, yet powerful free video editor, OpenShot is a winner.
2. Camtasia Studio 8
- Reviewed on: 5 July 12
- RRP: £213 inc VAT for a single licence, and £70 for an upgrade
- Rating:

Simply the best screen-capture program there is, Camtasia Studio 8 adds a host of functions, features and media assets to an already great program. Camtasia Studio could be your screen capture program, multimedia project creator and video editor. It's easy to use, has masses of features, and represents decent value - if you will use all of its many facets.
1. Adobe Premiere Elements 10
- Reviewed on: 21 September 11
- RRP: £79 inc VAT (£119 with Photoshop Elements)
- Rating:

The addition of a 64-bit version gives Adobe Premiere Elements 10 some performance breathing room, especially with high-definition video. Premiere Elements is an effective editing program that covers a lot of territory and satisfies different levels of users with its wide range of features. The organizer is problematic, but mostly if you're using its auto-analyzer feature to manage still shots. Premiere Elements is a stable, capable editor, and it continues to be the only consumer-priced video editor with usable keyframing tools.
