If you were wishing that Nokia would launch a new smartphone then today is your lucky day. The Finnish smartphone maker is set to unveil its Lumia 1020, previously known as EOS, in New York at a press conference.
Although the live launch event later today will reveal plenty of details about the Lumia 1020 (we're hoping for full specs, price and release date), a good chunk of information has been leaked already. The main thing is that it will feature a 41Mp rear facing PureView camera with Carl Zeiss lens like Nokia's 808 PureView. Accompanying this, a Pro Cam app will offer 11x digital zoom, anti-shake, and manual focus features. See also: Group test: what's the best Windows phone?
It is expected, based on leaked photos, that the Lumia 1020 will look much like the Lumia 920 and Lumia 925 (but with the large camera strapped to the back). The Windows Phone 8 handset will use the same 4.5in screen with a 768x1280 resolution, 32GB of internal storage, no microSD card slot, a polycarbonate body.
There's not long left to wait to find out if the rumours are true so join us a 4pm for the Nokia Lumia 1020 launch live.
The event will start at 11am Eastern Time so that's 4pm BST for all you in the UK.
