Huawei Ascend P8 launch live blog - as it happened
Following on from the Ascend P6 and Ascend P7, Huawei has already confirmed it will unveil the Ascend P8 at a launch event on 15 April. It's a couple of weeks before LG will announce the LG G4 and we'll be bringing you a live video stream from the event which will start at 3pm UK time.
As with most smartphones, details on the Huawei Ascend P8 have been leaked across the internet. The rumour mill suggests that the phone will come in black, white, silver and gold which seems a reasonable thing to suggest.
In terms of hardware, the P8 is thought to feature a 5.2in IPS screen with a Full HD resolution and an Huawei-made Kirin 935 octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. There will be 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 13 Mp rear camera and an 8 Mp front camera.
There are also whispers that Huawei will also launch an Ascend P8 Lite model which will have a Kirin 930 chip clocked at 1.8GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and the same cameras as the flagship device.
Whether these details are true or not remains to be seen so join us tomorrow for all the Huawei Ascend P8 news as it happens including release date, price and specs.
