Live video stream of LG's G2 smartphone launch from New York

LG will launch its G2 smartphone on 7 August at an event in New York and you can get live coverage right here. The video stream is right above so join us later on today.

If you didn't fancy the cost of flights and blagging your way into the LG G2 launch, then we've got you covered. We'll be providing you with live updating video coverage of the smartphone unveiling on PC Advisor.

We're not even speculating as to what LG will launch since the firm has announced the flagship G2 to some extent already, dropping its previously used Optimus branding. It will be the first of what the LG describes as "the new 'G' premium brand".

LG said: "The LG G2, a phone inspired by you, unveils itself on August 7, 2013." The tagline for the device is: "Learning from you".

"Our vision is to make LG's newest G devices synonymous with excellence, raising the bar even further for the ultimate in user experience," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile. "The new G2 will build upon the excellent reputation established by previous G Series products."

Although LG hasn't shown off the G2 yet, it has given a glimpse of it through it QuickWindow case which will come in seven different colours. Images and a leaked manual strongly suggest the G2 will have buttons positioned on the back side.

Rumoured specifications for the LG G2 include 5.5in Full HD screen, 2GB of RAM, a 13Mp camera and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. We're taking these with a pinch of salt for now.

The LG G2 launch event live will start at 11am EST so that's 4pm BST here in the UK. Bookmark this page and join us for full coverage.
