Group test: what's the best computer game?

The best games for all platforms

PC Advisor reviews the best computer games you can play on all platforms right now.

5. Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

A masterful remake of a true classic.

4. Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Fast, fun and peppered with iconic characters.

3. Mortal Kombat 9

Mortal Kombat 9 is the latest instalment of the most bloodthirsty and notorious fighting game franchise out there. Mortal Kombat 9's boss fights can be annoying, and I'm not totally happy with the Xbox mini-stick and D-pad - it may be worth investigating a dedicated control stick - but this remains a fantastically fun fighting game. The gameplay mechanics have been polished enough for competitive gamers to show some interest - who thought we'd ever say that about an MK title? - the atmosphere and fatalities are stronger than ever and the single-player modes are deep and thoughtfully designed. Finally, the fans have been given a next-gen Mortal Kombat worthy of the name.

2. Terraria

Games this good at this price are released once, maybe twice a year, and very few have so many potential hours of gameplay to offer. Terraria is one of the best games of the year so far.

1. Super Street Fighter IV 3DS

The biggest fighting franchise of all time hits the 3DS with a hadouken. How does Super Street Fighter IV stack up in 3D? Find out right here.
