Apple's WWDC 2013 keynote as it happened - iOS and OS X updates announced

Apple launches iOS and OS X, Mac Pro, MacBook Airs

At Apple's WWDC keynote tonight the company made several major announcements: a new OS X, 10.9 (known as 'Mavericks'), iOS 7, updated Safari and an all-new Apple Maps that features 3D mapping. There were also some hardware products announced, including new MacBook Air models and a new Mac Pro.

Today, Monday 10 June 2013, at 6pm UK time Apple kicked off its annual WWDC event with a major keynote address. Apple announced OS X 10.9 and iOS 7, as well as multiple hardware products. Here you can follow Apple's WWDC keynote as it happened via our live blog and live stream video.

WWDC keynote live: what we expected (how did we do?)

WWDC LiveStreamApple's annual WWDC keynote address is the biggest regular pronouncement from the world's favourite fruit-flavoured tech manufacturer (face facts BlackBerry). We know that Apple will unveil the next versions of iOS and OS X, although we don't know when they will be released or what the upgrades will entail. We are expecting updates to the interface, however. The smart money is on a new Mac Pro, too. But what else can we expect from the WWDC keynote?

We're expecting improvments to Apple iCloud, in particular better APIs so that developers can do more with Apple's online storage service. And don't be surprised if Apple announces improvement to Apple Maps. If you've used it recently you'll realise that it is already much improved. Here's hoping Apple hasn't lost its way and Maps is on today's agenda.
