Scosche's FoldIO is a leather iPad case that ticks many boxes - it's slim, stylish and sturdy. However, the fact that it doubles up as an adjustable iPad stand could prove the killer feature.
iPad die-hards will attest to the tablet's credentials as a multipurpose gadget. You can use it to send emails, browse the web, play games, watch movies and many things besides. So a flexible stand that allows you to adjust the viewing angle of the screen depending on the task in hand could come in handy.
The iPad slots into place inside the FoldIO's six reinforced holders. But release it from the two towards the middle of the case and you can fold the rear cover, allowing you to position the iPad so it rests into one of the three grooves located inside the case's front cover. This allows you to move the screen so it's positioned at angles of between around 80 degrees and 45 degrees to your desk.
We found the more upright positions ideal for watching videos, while the other extreme is useful for typing. On the whole, the iPad stays firmly in position, although we did find that when typing it occasionally slipped out of the groove when positioned flatter to the desk.
The Scosche FoldIO holds its own as a simple case, too. Available in carbon fibre and leather textures, it sacrifices pockets and straps to keep bulk to a minimum. This means the iPad it holds is protected effectively without taking up too much space in your bag. The interior is lined in soft suede-like material that folds to protect the screen, and all-in-all the Foldio has an unquestionably sleek and professional design.
