MediaWidget is simple software that satisfies a single, important, need. It transfers the contents of your iPod or iPhone back to your PC. It's easy to use, with an attractive, intuitive interface.
If your Windows PC is broken, or you've bought a new one, MediaWidget removes the pain of having to transfer hundreds of files just to update your iPod or iPhone. You can use it to transfer music and video from your old PC to a new one, from an old iPod to new, or from your old iPod to your new PC.
Once you've downloaded and installed MediaWidget, it’s a cinch to copy iPod playlists, ratings, and so on directly to iTunes, either by following a wizard, or via the easy-to-use interface. For backup purposes, you can simply dump your media in to a Windows folder and avoid iTunes.
As legitimate software MediaWidget doesn't mess with the DRM of your files - if you have an older iTunes track that’s restricted to only iTunes-authorized Windows PCs and Macs, it won’t work on other computers. But that’s not the case with new tracks now, and if your PC crashes or is stolen you'll find MediaWidget a boon.
If you wish to share music with a friend, MediaWidget makes the job easy. You can play music direct from MediaWidget, as well as editing playlists. And if you've ever wanted to be able to update your iPod or iPhone from multiple PCs, MediaWidget is your friend.
MediaWidget doesn't work with Apple Mac OS X, and right now you can’t write back to iPhone 4 and Apple iOS 4 devices, being able to back-up only one way. Bootstrap told us it hoped to change this soon.
