The CeWe software lets you create a photobook for free - but you'll have to pay to get it printed.

CeWe is a digital image-printing service with a difference. Rather than offering online storage, CeWe features free software which can be downloaded from its website that allows prints, mementos and photobooks to be created on a PC rather than online.

The CeWe software takes minutes to download and is easy to use. You can create photo prints, photobooks or photo gifts including keyrings, mouse mats and canvas prints.

For prints, the CeWe software allows you to browse your PC's desktop and select images. The software provides a guide as to whether the resolution of the image is good enough to print at the size requested, while a red-eye removal function is also available. Prints are available in sizes starting from 6x4in to 20x30in to, priced from 10p each for a 6x4in print. Delivery costs £1.69, and discounts are available on bulk orders starting from 50 prints.

To create a photobook, simply select a different tab when the CeWe Photoworld software is open and choose from four different sizes of photobook. All photobooks are available with a range of covers including hard-backed, faux leather and linen covered, with prices starting from £5.99.

After choosing a photobook, our cover and number of pages, we then simply selected the images from our PC we wanted to include. We were able to either select all of the images and have the software place them on the pages for us, or choose ourselves the order in which we wanted the images to appear.

There are some layout templates offered, which can be accessed by the layout tab on the left-hand side, although you can also drag-and-drop images on to the pages and place them. You can crop, zoom, rotate or add borders to images as well as selecting one image to be the background of the page.

Once you've completed our project, simply hit order and the software connects back to CeWe over the internet to order your products. CeWe states a delivery time of between three and five days delivery time and our prints and photobooks arrived within this time frame.
