Sony has recently introduced two new travel mice to its range, the compact and sophisticated Sony SMU-M10 (see review here) and this one - its larger and brighter Sony SMU-C3 optical USB mouse.
Both are Vista-compatible but the Sony SMU-C3 is heavier. It's also slightly smaller than a normal desktop mouse. The Sony SMU-C3 features a wider scrollwheel that means it's probably better suited if you need a device that is relatively lightweight and easily portable but not fiddly to use.
In comparison to the SMU-M10, we found the Sony SMU-C3 looked less modern and stylish. The model we reviewed was bright pink and peach, which we thought looked slightly cheap. However there are other more attractive two-tone versions on offer – black/black, white/grey and white/bright green.
Instead of having a groove around the edge to wrap the USB cable like the SMU-M10, the Sony SMU-C3 has an in-built storage compartment that opens up to store the cable and enable convenient transportation. As well as being comfortable to use the Sony SMU-C3 also has a long length of cable, measuring 1.8m, making it adaptable and user-friendly.
