Sleek is not a typical adjective applied to a desktop hard drive. It is, however, the first word that springs to mind upon first seeing Seagate's FreeAgent Pro.
Whether you want to share large amounts of data, access your files from anywhere or back up your most important information, the FreeAgent is a convenient solution. You can quickly create restore points, roll back your PC to a previous state or tap into the array of diagnostic utilities and drive settings. Performance is very good, requiring just 80 seconds to copy 3GB of files using an eSata connection.
The FreeAgent Pro can be connected through either USB 2.0 or an eSata interface. For around £12 extra, you can buy an enhanced version with FireWire ports. One slight design issue is the orange strip, which tells you whether the drive is powered up - in a brightly lit environment, it's hard to see whether the strip is glowing or not. And the base tends to get quite hot since the unit is fanless and dissipates heat through vents at the bottom of the drive.
