It’s clear the Philips SHQ 4000 headphones are aimed at sports enthusiasts. From grey and bright orange design to the fact they’re resistant to damage from sweat and rain.
The Philips SHQ 4000 are certainly one of the most comfortable sets of headphones we’ve tried, to the point where we almost forget we were using them.
The flexible neck band was easy to position and sat comfortably on our neck, without irritating during exercise. The Philips SHQ 4000 headphones also come with a 1.2m cable that means you can position your music player anywhere on your body during sporting, while the bundled cable clip
We used the medium sized ear caps that were already attached to the headphones and found they fitted snugly in our ears, which meant the Philips SHQ 4000 didn’t fall out while we were jogging and blocked out external sounds. However, they do come with a set of smaller and larger ear caps, ensuring they’ll fit every user.
The headphones gave a clear crisp sound. Phillips claims the Philips SHQ 4000 headphones offer a “bass-thumping sound that will energise your workout”. We certainly found the bass on tracks to be clear and without distortion
We loved the fact that the Philips SHQ 4000 headphones are washable. As soon as we’d finished our workout, we were able to run them under warm water and then dry them off, ensuring they were left smell and sweat free for next time. Not only does it make them more pleasant to use, but also stops them becoming a breading ground for bacteria.
Philips has injected the ear buds with an anti-bacterial agent which it claims kills 99.8 percent of bacteria, as added extra protection.
The Philips SHQ 4000 headphones also come bundled with a pouch to keep them safe when not in use.
