Samsung SPF-72H 7in digital photo frame

£105 inc VAT

Manufacturer: Samsung

Our Rating: We rate this 3 out of 5

Relatively inexpensive and with a simple interface, we like the 7in Samsung SPF-72H digital photo frame - except for its ugly design.

Relatively inexpensive and with a simple interface, we like the 7in Samsung SPF-72H digital photo frame - except for its ugly design.

You transfer images to the 7in Samsung SPF-72H via USB or media cards (SD/MMC/MS/XD). However, transfer times weren't short, it took 49 seconds to transfer 10 images, and we had trouble getting the frame to see the images on our XD card.

The Samsung SPF-72H also displayed some invalid files copied over with the images (as did the AG Neovo).

In what could be a bid to protect the environment, Samsung has left the manual out and provided a CD instead (begging the question of whether CDs are any more environmentally friendly). In practice this probably means that people are less likely to read the manual and in fact they might not need to as the Samsung SPF-72H's interface is easy to navigate, although the buttons are mounted on the back and it’s impossible to find them without turning the frame around.

The Samsung SPF-72H displays images at a resolution of 800x480. Like the Kodak EX811 there is an option for fitting images to the widescreen frame that doesn’t result in stretching.

The Samsung SPF-72H is probably the least attractive digital photo frame we've tested, with white and silver stripes and a gigantic - far too noticeable - Samsung logo.

Relatively inexpensive and with a simple interface, we like the 7in Samsung SPF-72H digital photo frame, not least because it doesn't stretch images. But it's difficult to access buttons, and has an unattractive design.
