The Lexmark X7675 is a four-in-one printer that offers scanning, copying and faxing functions.

The Lexmark X7675 is a four-in-one printer that offers scanning, copying and faxing functions.

Aimed at the business and home office market, the Lexmark X7675 is quite big and bulky. It's not the most attractive of the models here but its black and silver casing should complement most office setups.

On the front of the Lexmark X7675 is the Printer Control, which features a 2.4in display, control buttons and numeric keypad that allows users to fax and copy. It also features a 25-page automatic document feeder, as well as its standard paper tray.

Printer reviews and buying advice

Don't be put off by the huge folder of set-up materials that comes with the Lexmark X7675 printer, once you've inserted the CD, you should find set up of the machine simple and quick, as the on-screen instructions guide you through every step, including installing and aligning the cartridges. Once set-up is complete, you're ready to start printing.

The Lexmark X7675 printer comes bundled with Abbyy Fine Reader Sprint OCR software to ensure characters can be recognised when scanning and copying, as well as the Lexmark Toolbar which aims to improve printing from the web by allowing users to preview a web page before printing and even select only the text to reproduce.

As well as USB, the Lexmark X7675 has both ethernet and Wi-Fi - ideal if you don't want to have to be stuck in a home office or park yourself next to a noisy printer. Despite being aimed at the office market, this printer also features PictBridge connectivity and a five-in-one memory card reader; both allow users to print images from digital cameras without the need for a PC.

Lexmark says the Lexmark X7675 printer is capable of speeds of up to 32ppm when it comes to mono documents and up to 27ppm for colour documents. In our texts, the Lexmark X7675 printed the graphic and text document in 23 seconds. Although the black text in draft mode was crisp and clear, colours appeared very faded. However, in Normal and Best the colours were bright and vivid. Photos looked clear and sharp with bright colours.

Business IT reviews and advice

The Lexmark X7675 comes with a black and colour cartridge on purchase. Replacement cartridges will set you back £23.72 for black and £28.52 of colour each, which means colour prints cost 10p each and black prints cost 5p each.
