We like Belkin's Slim-Fit Case for iPhone, as it's a simple protective slip cover for Apple's innovative but potentially delicate device. Now that case has some serious competition in the form of Das Blau's Slipper Case.
It might not come with a pipe but this slipper certainly feels comfortable and rather luxurious. Das Blau has a reputation for high-quality leather and fabric goods for the iPod, and this is true for its new iPhone and iPod touch case.
The Slipper Case is made from fine lambskin leather with a suede lining and Paul Smith-like stripy front pocket – where you can store credit or business cards, receipts, bank notes, etc. It's also a neat place to store your earbuds. Like the Belkin Slim-Fit, it offers protection via shock-absorbent padding.
Unlike the Belkin cover, the Slipper's suede lining seems to give the iPhone a little cleaning wipe as you withdraw it from the case. It's not a full valet service, but some smudges do disappear. Das Blau doesn't claim this as a feature, so maybe it's just a happy coincidence.
My one disappointment is the ratchet belt clip, which is more prominent than that on the Belkin, and so makes it a little more bulky.
