Proporta's Alu-Crystal Case for Apple's iPhone doesn't hide the revolutionary front of the device like many protective cases. It features a hinged clear fascia - which can also act as a handy viewing stand.
The polycarbonate plastic front and sides are scratch resistant, but the hinged front does not clip properly into place and so is prone to hanging slightly open. Combined with the hinge, which resembles that on a CD jewel case, we fear that this would simply break off given the opportunity.
The back is stronger, being made of "aircraft-grade aluminium", but the wobbly front and equally dodgy belt-clip – which failed to hang on to my belt for too long – don't suggest a long life time.
