Lenovo has served up a new version of its Yoga laptop and IFA 2013, the 2 Pro. Here's our hands-on review of the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop and tablet hybrid at  IFA.

The original Yoga was one of our favourite hybrid laptop tablet combinations and Lenovo is back with a new version just in time for Christmas. We spent some time with the Yoga 2 Pro at this year's IFA technology show in Berlin, Germany.

The Yoga 2 Pro still has the same cleverly hinged design allowing the screen to rotate almost a full 360 degrees. This means it can transform into four modes which Lenovo call laptop, tent, stand and tablet.

Once again the device has a premium and luxurious feel and it's been made thinner and lighter than its predecessor. It’s now just under 1.4 kg and a slender 15.5 mm thick. The Yoga 2 Pro can be summed up as sleek.

The 13.3 in screen has been given a substantial upgrade. It's got an extremely impressive QHD+ resolution of 3200 x 1800. Of course, it's fully touchscreen and we found it to be responsive and with excellent viewing angles thanks to that IPS panel.

The impressive specs continue with an up to an Intel Haswell Core i7-4500Y processor and up to 512 GB SSD. There's also up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM.

Lenovo said the Yoga 2 Pro comes with built-in WiDi for wirelessly streaming content to a TV and there's Dolby Home Theatre v4 although we weren't able to test these at IFA. The firm touts up to nine hours of battery life so we'll check this out in the lab when we get a sample.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro tablet

The Yoga 2 Pro comes pre-loaded with Windows 8.1 and something called Yoga Picks. This recommends apps for the different modes which the device can transform into. It also comes with some apps installed including Yoga Photo Touch for editing photos and Yoga Camera Man for taking snaps with effects.

The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro will be available in October with a fairly hefty price tag attached of €1299. We expect a UK price of at least £1000.
