Be.ez LaRobe bags have always been well made, strong and stylish. The two-tone LeReporter Air laptop bag range continues this trend, managing to be both sleek and capacious.
As the name suggests, the LeReporter is designed to carry a MacBook Air. There's a single bag for 11in and 13.3in models.
Rather than quibble over screen sizes, be.ez had instead plumped for a choice of colour options: the brown and golden-yellow combination we've been using is a little reminiscent of a Brownie Guide uniform, but the tried and tested colour pairing is smart, eye-catching and has drawn several compliments. There's also a Kingfisher colour option in blue-green and orange.
On the practical front, this bag scores highly. The waxed nylon fabric is water-repellent (the label claims waterproof but we didn't dunk our beloved Apple kit in water to verify this), but without the icky Barbour waxiness. It's a well-made bag in every sense - the zips and stitching are finished to a high standard. A broad Velcro strip holds the cover flap firmly in place, preventing content spillage. When you pull back the top flap, there's a satisfying ripping sound.
Front and back exterior zip-up pockets are provided - ideal for stashing keys or a print-out of your flight details you quickly need to lay your hands on.
Lift the LeReporter's cover flap and you'll find a further, narrower zipped pocket. This was capacious enough to hold the mains charger and cables for our laptop. The bag's interior consists of a pair of lightly padded pockets, one of which has a secure elastic strap.
We were comfortably able to carry an iPad and our 13in MacBook Air, plus the charger. Doing so is comfortable; the ripstop nylon straps have no shoulder padding, but the length is adjustable via D-rings.
