How much you're willing to spend on a smartphone is going to be key in deciding between the HTC One and HTC One mini. We won't try and compare the ever changing and almost endless amount of contracts out there so we'll stick to SIM-free prices. See also: HTC One mini review.
Unsurprsingly, the HTC One mini is cheaper with a price of £379. To get the flagship HTC One you'll have to pay around £500.

As we've already said, the HTC One and its mini brother look extremely similar. The HTC One mini is, of course, smaller but not by much. Both phones are the same thickness but there is a small difference in weight.
Each has the aluminium uni-body but a something to point out is that the HTC One has Gorilla Glass 2 and the HTC One mini has Gorilla Glass 3.

HTC One mini vs HTC One: Screen
The reason these phones aren't massively different in size is that their respective screens are only 0.4in apart. The HTC One has the highest pixel density on the market at 469ppi but the HTC One mini is no slouch at 341ppi which is better than the iPhone 5.

HTC One mini vs HTC One: Processor and memory
As you would expect, the HTC One has superior core specifications with a speedy quad-core processor and a healthy 2GB of RAM. The HTC One mini has a relative mid-ranged dual-core chip with half the amount of RAM.

Storage may be a key differentiator depending on how you use your smartphone. Since neither handset has a microSD card slot you'll need to pick wisely here. As standard, the HTC One has twice the storage of the HTC One mini and has an even larger model available with 64GB of memory.

HTC One mini vs HTC One: Cameras
HTC has decided to fit the HTC One mini with the same 4Mp Ultrapixel camera as the HTC One. That's great news for those wanting to save cash by opting for the mini version.
However, it's worth noting that the front camera offers lower quality snaps at 1.6Mp and only 720p video instead of Full HD. It's not a bad downgrade though.

HTC One mini vs HTC One: Connectivity
Although both the HTC One and HTC One mini support 4G LTE mobile networks via the Micro-SIM slot, there are a few connectivity differences you should be aware of.
The HTC One's infrared transmitter which can control devices such as your TV is not found on the HTC One mini. It also doesn't have an NFC chip on-board for transferring content to another phone or making payments.

Software is one area where the HTC One and HTC One mini are identical. Both run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC's Sense 5 user interface overlay so you get thing like HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound no matter which device you plump for.
HTC One mini vs HTC One: Battery life
Both the HTC One and HTC One mini have non-removable batteries so you'll have no opportunity to switch if you run out of juice. They are difference capacities but interestingly, going by HTC's numbers, the HTC One will give you more talk time but the HTC One mini will last longer on standby.
