Mechanic Panic review

£1.49

Manufacturer: Jeffrey Yim

Our Rating: We rate this 3.5 out of 5

Mechanic Panic is very simple and very addictive, perfect for play sessions as short as an elevator ride.

In iPhone and iPad puzzle game Mechanic Panic you must climb higher and higher up an elevator shaft, jumping from wall to wall to escape the explosion you’ve created. The game’s all about timing it right so you avoid falling debris, catch falling victims, and hitch rides on elevators going up.

The higher you go, the more people you catch, the more points you earn. It’s very simple, very addictive and infinitely repayable, which is how I prefer my iPhone games. There’s even a little carrot on a stick in the form of perks you can busy with experience points.

You can cut corners and do the developer a solid by paying for experience points, but you won’t feel like you’re getting a lesser experience if you don’t.

Hardly the king of variety, but Mechanic Panic is a game which understands its medium, and the often time-challenged players who use it.
