Compro VideoMate DVB-T300

£52 inc VAT

Manufacturer: Scan.co.uk

Our Rating: We rate this 4 out of 5

There's a dearth of TV tuner products that combine analogue and digital signals, so Compro's VideoMate DVB-T300 is a welcome addition to the market.

There's a dearth of TV tuner products that combine analogue and digital signals, so Compro's VideoMate DVB-T300 is a welcome addition to the market.

Installing the Compro requires a bit more savvy than your average PCI card, because you need to hook up the bundled wires inside the motherboard - if this sounds unappealing, stay away.

Once it's installed, you can break out the remote control and use Compro's software to navigate channels. We loved the fact that it can power up your PC if you've set it to record, but you can't watch analogue TV while recording digital. Also, the digital program guide is fine, but the analogue one is America-only.

If you want to use your PC as a fully featured TV, Compro's offering is one of the better options. However, it won't be long before better products with UK-specific guides will be available. Early adopters only need apply.
