An Intel Core i7-2600K-based powerhouse, the CyberPower Infinity Achilles Extreme PC combines several high-quality components and peripherals to deliver strong performance.

The CyberPower Infinity Achilles Extreme is the first PC we’ve seen to take advantage of Intel’s Smart Response Technology (SRT). The SSD is low in capacity at 30GB, but used only to speed up hard-drive performance, functioning as a high-speed cache. Windows sees the two drives as one super-fast unit.

The CyberPower Infinity Achilles Extreme performed well in our first round of tests, but subsequent retests gave inconsistent results. We ran WorldBench 6 37 times (normally we do so only thrice). Its highest result was 170 points, but the PC’s average was a lowly 149.

SRT requires a Z68-chipset motherboard; the Gigabyte model used by the CyberPower Infinity Achilles Extreme also offers two 6Gbps SATA ports and a pair of USB 3.0 connections. With no video connectors, however, it isn’t able to support the CPU’s integrated graphics.

The CyberPower Infinity Achilles Extreme's factory-overclocked Gainward nVidia GeForce GTX 580 ensures excellent gaming performance. Dino PC’s Palit version is faster still, but the difference is minimal.

A very good 24in BenQ display, a Blu-ray drive and a set of five Creative speakers offer an immersive multimedia experience.
