Chillblast Fusion Delta review

£749 inc VAT

Manufacturer: Chillblast

Our Rating: We rate this 4.5 out of 5

The Chillblast Fusion Delta budget desktop PC immediately caught our attention with a 25in Hanns-G monitor, and its excellent performance for the money kept us in awe.

A huge 25in Hanns-G monitor affords the Chillblast Fusion Delta our immediate attention. But size isn’t everything, and this PC also puts in a very good performance. Fastest overall with 167 points in our WorldBench 6 test, the Chillblast delivers plenty for the money. And with a multiplier-unlocked Core i5-2500K CPU and P67 motherboard under the bonnet, there’s potential for even more power.

The regulation 4GB of DDR3 RAM and one-terabyte (1TB) hard drive are combined with an Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard. This is a superior board, offering many more features than the ‘LE’ version selected by Dino PC. It has Bluetooth, four USB 3.0 ports and, unlike the three H67-chipset PCs on test, scope for a significant performance boost via overclocking. Should you wish to follow this path, however, be sure to first upgrade the Chillblast Fusion Delta's standard Intel CPU cooler.

Budget desktop PCs chart ranking

  1. Chillblast Fusion Delta
  2. Dino PC Elmisaur 2500K
  3. Eclipse Plasma P67i525r695
  4. Arbico i5-2556 XL
  5. Arbico i5-2568 Pro HD

A pair of Logitech S120 speakers is supplied with the Chillblast Fusion Delta PC, offering a significant step up in sound quality from display-mounted units. A bass-enhancing subwoofer is not included, however.

Graphics are provided by AMD’s Radeon HD 6870. This is the weakest component in the Chillblast Fusion Delta's strong specification, and slower than both the nVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti and AMD Radeon HD 6950 seen elsewhere in the chart. However, differences between the three cards can be relatively small, depending on what games you like to play.

The Chillblast Fusion Delta PC's EZCool A200D system case adds appeal, with a large blue illuminated fan.
