Plantronics BackBeat 216 review

£39 inc VAT

Manufacturer: Plantronics

Our Rating: We rate this 3.5 out of 5

The Plantronics BackBeat 216 earphones are mid-priced earbuds that are suitable for use with MP3 players and smartphones.

At £39.99, the Plantronics BackBeat 216 earphones are mid-priced earbuds that are suitable for use with MP3 players, smartphones and any other device with a 3.5mm connector.

The sleek black Plantronics BackBeat 216 earphones feature bronze accents on the earbuds and the 3.5mm jack. A choice of three different-sized silicon tips mean you can ensure the earbuds fit snugly in your ear canal, as well as isolating any background noise to provide uninterrupted listening. Sound quality was clear and crisp, with deep bass notes.

We loved the fact the Plantronics BackBeat 216 earbuds have a cloth-covered cord, which Plantronics says ensures they won't get tangled up. We found that the cord worked well and we never suffered from digging the earphones out of our bag to discover them in a tangled mess.

The Plantronics BackBeat 216 earphones also feature an inline control that allows users to pause or adjust the volume of tracks by pressing buttons on the controller. The inline controls also feature a built-in microphone that can be used for voice recordings or telephone calls. We were impressed with the microphone, as it picked up our voice clearly and background noise was not an issue.

Furthermore, the Plantronics BackBeat 216 earphones also come with a 3.5mm gold-plated plug, which we found was strong and robust, even with the rough handling of your reviewer.
