Mesh has taken the bold step of ignoring Intel’s super-fast Sandy Bridge processor family, plumping instead for an older and cheaper Core i5-760 Quad. Consequently, its Evolution GTX PCA is the slowest PC here by some margin.

As our benchmark results show, the older 2.8GHz processor is no match for the Core i5-2400. A few months ago, the Mesh Evolution GTX PCA's WorldBench score of 140 points would have been considered fast; it now looks almost slow. And because it’s based on a different CPU socket, future upgrades will be limited.

A standard 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 1TB hard drive are provided, along with a 550W power supply. The Mesh Evolution GTX PCA desktop PC's Thermaltake V3 system case sports a stylish black paint job inside and out, and has plenty of room for cooling in addition to the supplied front and rear fans.

Graphics are provided by an ATI Radeon HD 6850. Installed in four of the five PCs here, the Mesh Evolution GTX PCA is more able to keep up with the competition in our gaming tests than our application benchmarks.

A number of software programs are preinstalled, most notably a CyberLink multimedia suite. A generous three-year warranty is also offered with the Mesh Evolution GTX PCA desktop PC.
