Chillblast’s Fusion Orb delivers the best overall performance and the best set of peripherals of any PC in this month’s chart. It may be at the top end of the price range, but it offers significantly better value for money than other PCs at the same £799 price. See also Group test: What's the best family PC.

Like Eclipse and Quiet PC, Chillblast has gone for a 3.4GHz Intel Core i5-3570K processor which is the overclockable version of the chip, although the Asus P8B75-M LX motherboard features an Intel B75 chipset which does not support this feature.Take a look at Chillblast Fusion Longbow review too.

The Fusion Orb achieves a very high score of 193 points in WorldBench 6. This is not only down to the processor, but also the 120GB OCZ Agility 3 solid-state drive which boosts responsiveness considerably. It’s also the only system here to be fitted with 16GB of fast 1600MHz RAM, which gives it a boost in our benchmarks. Visit Arbico eXcel i5256 VX review.

The PC comes with a handy built-in card reader and a webcam, plus Wi-Fi in the form of an external USB adaptor. It also features a Blu-ray drive and a pair of Logitech S220 speakers, complete with sub-woofer.

The stand-out feature, however is the 24in Iiyama X2377 monitor which uses IPS technology to deliver vastly superior colour reproduction and viewing angles than any other display in the group. The Fusion Orb, is therefore ideally suited to those who love to edit photos or video.

Chillblast has selected an AMD Radeon HD 6850 graphics card, which is from the previous generation to the Radeon HD 7770 featured in most other systems; but also from a higher performance tier. These two factors essentially cancel each other out and the two cards deliver roughly the same level of performance.

The Chillblast Vantage case isn’t particularly stylish, but features cable management and tool-free drive bays inside.
