We were instantly intrigued by the quirky design of this MacBook case. The BookBook case is designed for stealthy security by disguising your MacBook Proas an old fashioned book. See New MacBook Pro release date, specs and rumour round-up 2012.

We tested the 13in model, and our MacBook Pro only just fits inside the case, which can be a bit awkward. The zip is smooth though, and ensures that your device won’t fall out when you’re on the move. Visit Group test: what's the best ultraportable laptop?

The BookBook is made from hardback leather with velvety padded interior. The leather is relatively strong and hardwearing, and the already worn down look means that you don’t have to take too much care.

Unfortunately, this case isn’t very practical because it adds a lot of bulk to your MacBook, and it isn’t very comfy to have on your lap.

The BookBook is also available for the iPad, iPhone and MacBook Air, and they all have various colours to choose from.

Buying advice

We think the BookBook case is a fun product, but it really is just a novelty. However, if you aren’t going to need to carry your MacBook in a bag very often, appreciate the book-like design, and have got some cash to spare, it’s a perfectly suitable way to protect your valuable device.
