Altec Lansing’s Bliss range of earphones have been designed specifically with women in mind as then benefit from a smaller housing designed to ensure a snug fit in petite ears. The Bliss Platinum earbuds are the top-of-the-range version of the three Bliss models.

The narrower barrels and smaller ear tips were the perfect fit our ears, as usually of headphones I have to resort to the smallest tips available and in some case find they don’t offer the snuggest of fits. However, for those with slightly larger ear canals, a range of three different-sized silicon tips also come bundled with the earphones, so any user will find the earbuds fit perfectly.

Available in three different colours, we tried the suitably feminine pink version of the earbuds. The chrome barrels are covered with white-tinted silicon tips, while the earbuds are accented with black and finished off with a diamond-cut pink end that sparkled like a jewel.

The Bliss Platinum earbuds also benefit from a colour co-ordinated braided cloth cord that according to Altec Lansing eliminates friction and tangling. While we found the cord very rarely got tangled (and on the two occasions it did it was very easy to untangle) our one gripe would be that the pale pink and white colour meant it got grubby very quickly. For those that like their colour pristine, it may be better to opt for the black earbuds over the pink and aqua colours.

But it’s not all about the design. The Bliss Platinum earbuds also feature noise-isolating technology. We found they successfully blocked out background noise allowing us to hear just the music playing.

The Altec Lansing Bliss Platinum earbuds are a great buy for those that have smaller ear- canals and find standard earbuds don’t offer a tight-enough fit. We also think their cute jewel-like design and noise-isolating technology mean they’re worth the £39.99 price tag.
