On opening the box it's immediately obvious that Corsair sees the Corsair TX750W PSU as a premium product. Shipped in its oven velvet-effect bag, the Corsair TX750W PSU (power supply unit) presents itself as something to be treasured.

And treasure it you should: Corsair specifies its PSU's performance at 50º centigrade, so at more usual PC temperatures, it's able to deliver more than you might expect.

Although rated in the middle of the power range at 750W, Corsair's TX750W performed very well under load. Coping admirably with our 800W load test, it managed to retain its 82 percent efficiency at all times, along with rock solid voltage levels.

The Corsair TX750W's 140mm fan is a big one. Larger fans usually mean slower rotational speeds and therefore less noise. Under gentle loading, this power supply is indeed reasonably quiet, but the fan causes an unfortunately high level of noise as it accelerates to very high speeds under load.

Place a hand near the Corsair TX750W's fan and you can feel the tremendous volume of air being shifted through it. If you don't care too much about noise, this could be of great help in cooling the rest of your PC.
