Motorola LS1000W review

Few digital photo frames are as featured-packed as this 10.4in Motorola LS1000W, which provides Wi-Fi access to internet services such as Flickr and Picasa, as well as an alarm clock and MP3/video playback. Unfortunately, its impressive spec is matched by its impressive bulk, with a wide – and garish – aluminium bezel surrounding the screen.

As you'd expect, the Motorola LS1000W digital photo frame includes one USB port and two flash memory card slots as well as 512MB of internal storage for displaying your photos.

Setup is complicated by the need to enter details for the internet services mentioned, but the onscreen menus are easy to navigate with lots of different options to tinker with.

Pros: Sensibly priced with lots of features; easy to use interface; remote control; landscape and portrait; lots of slideshow options

Cons: Garish; LCD tech can make photos look artificial; limited storage; slightly complicated setup

OUR VERDICT

Picture quality is good with strong, vibrant colours, but the results are slightly artificial when viewed close up. But if you can live with its looks, this frame is definitely worthy of your cash.
