Chillblast’s Fusion Shogun is a very well-specified budget desktop PC for the money, and carefully constructed both inside and out. Its EZCool-110D system case conceals a USB 3.0-compatible Asus motherboard that supports the latest external hard drives. However, the generous one-terabyte (1TB) storage provision should mean you won’t need to increase this capacity anytime soon.

A 3.2GHz Intel Core i3-550 processor powered the Chillblast Fusion Shogun budget desktop PC to a 134-point score in our WorldBench 6 real-world test suite. Given that the Arbico’s faster Core i3-560 chip scored just one point more at 135, this is an impressive tally.

Although it isn’t the fastest machine here, the Chillblast Fusion Shogun budget desktop PC's discrete Radeon HD 5450 graphics card with 512MB of video memory and 2.1-channel (two speakers and a subwoofer) speaker set are more useful additions than the fractional speed boost the Core i3-560 processor provides.

This is no gaming rig, of course, but some clock-speed tweaking of the Asus graphics card selected by Chillblast helped to deliver significantly faster framerates in Fear (1024x768, ‘Maximum’ detail) than the competition. Its 29fps score is proof that low-end games will be playable on the Chillblast Fusion Shogun budget desktop PC. More useful, however, is its support for DirectX 11.0 and dual monitors.

The Chillblast Fusion Shogun is one of four PCs here to specify AOC’s 21.5in F22+ monitor. This full-HD screen offers a stylish chassis, and digital input options too.
