Arbico’s i5 7668 Pro desktop PC is very close to the Chillblast Fusion Black Ops in specification, yet it lagged somewhat behind that machine in our performance benchmarks.
Arbico’s i5 7668 Pro desktop PC is very close to the Chillblast Fusion Black Ops in specification. Both use Intel’s 2.8GHz Core i5-760 CPU, the Asus P7P55D-E motherboard, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 1TB hard drive and the familiar 23.6in HKC 2249A monitor. The two PC vendors have even selected the same Asus ‘DirectCu’ version of the ATI Radeon HD 6850 graphics card with 1GB of video RAM.
As we noted in our write-up for the Fusion Black Ops, this card has had its core clock speed fractionally increased and benefits from a superior cooling solution. Had any of the PC vendors here supplied a standard HD 6850 card, we would expect to see slower framerates than the Arbico i5 7668 Pro desktop PC.
With the same components selected, we would expect to see these two Windows 7 PCs tie neck-and-neck in our performance tests. In fact, the Arbico i5 7668 Pro desktop PC scored 133 points in our WorldBench 6 processing speed test, while the Chillblast took the chart lead with 138. The Arbico also fell somewhat behind in our gaming tests, although the difference is only slight.
Should you want to boost the gaming potential of this machine, the Asus motherboard supports the addition of a second graphics card. However, CrossFireX enthusiasts would do better buying a motherboard that supports both slots at the full x16 speed. This board also adds two USB 3.0 ports and 6Gbps SATA to the Arbico i5 7668 Pro desktop PC.
Housed in the same Cooler Master case as the Palicomp, the Arbico i5 7668 Pro desktop PC looks smart and tidy, and offers ample space inside.
The Arbico i5 7668 Pro desktop PC doesn’t come with any external speakers, although on paper it improves on the Chillblast’s 500W power supply unit with an 850W AvengePower.
