I'd like to get the heads up on the Nexus 7 32GB. I bought the 16GB model but took it back for a refund B4 I opened it.
Just waiting for a release date and somewhere I can buy or preorder it from. There's nothing concrete out there yet.

You could certainly do that, but it would be an awful waste of a very capable computing device. Get an iPod instead.

I'm told that the Nokia shops here in Thailand will be selling the new 920 from 4th October and I will certainly be there shortly afterwards to try it out. As much as I like Win 7 I will try Win 8 on my laptop and by the time I return to the UK I should have decided if I wish to install it in my main system. I'm pretty sure Microsoft have got it right and that both will be winners especially if they can get those not using touch screens to change. XP users should also finally get used to the idea of its time to upgrade. I've read the reviews about the Surface and all in all they appear to be very favourable but perhaps the normal chipped version due in a couple of months would suit me better.
I actually feel for the first time in years some excitement about what is now appearing on the market.

FE - thanks for that insight ... if I could fix it [The Surface] to a wall and use the touch-screen in the same manner as the new-type jukeboxes down at my local(s) [...but with my own personal music collection] ... I would definitely be very interested.

It's a Microsoft tablet that runs Windows RT, the tablet version of Windows 8. I think it will sell very well.

I think Windows 8 is as radical a difference to home computing as was Windows 95, despite all the negatives above, and soon to be more below no doubt, I think it will be talked about quite a lot over the next few months.
It's the only OS that's offering properly integrated computing that's the same on your phone, your desk top and your play pad. Syncing contacts between phone and desk top has always been variable depending on how good the software from the phone maker is. Windows 8 looks to be seriously addressing the cross platform incompatibilities. I'm very interested in a Windows pad as my next purchase that can use USB plug and play for printing and disk writing without any other thing being required to allow it.

It seems to be a PCA poll failing they never give you a chance to say not interested. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Advertisers, finding out nobody really gives a dam could reduce the amount of incoming advrtising revenue

Out of those, none really. Not at all interested in Apple, I won't change OS until I get a new machine, my phoen is still comfortably in contract, and I have a tablet I'm happy with for now.
If I had the choice, I'd choose the new Nexus launches.

Without a doubt the new iMac, I have waited for many months and I'm pleased to see the new one which seems impossibly thin and a design delight.

I've voted for the one that disinterests me the least.
I won't have any Apple product
I don't buy any Windows version until at least Service pack 1, hopefully that will remove the application launcher and make the normal desktop the default.
I personally can't see a use for a tablet (Microsoft Surface)
So by process of elimination it Windows Phone 8, which actually looks quite good, and is one of my options when it comes to swapping my phone next year

I was looking at the new iPod 5 but for another £30 I could get the iPad Mini and not knowing the difference in what they do I am in limbo at the moment.
But as the iPad mini is bigger that would probably be a lot better for me as my eyesight is not as good as it used to be.
Then of course there is the iPad 3 which is even bigger and better.Great having a choice it is picking the correct one that is the problem.
