Surely an iPod touch is already a small iPad? If a new item appears it will sit between the iPad and iPod touch?

It is about time one of the manufacturers developed a tablet that docks with a phone and shares the hardware and syncs the software. It would mean lower cost and much greater flexibility.

Aitchbee is right that that size of tablet will sell to those with nimble fingers and good eyesight.

Personally a 10 inch tablet is about the right size for me, anything smaller and I find text and icons difficult to see. But I would like my tablet to be lighter and thinner and wouldn't it be great if you could just roll it up like a newspaper and stick it in your pocket until you next need to use it?

It will still be vastly over priced.

It (the possible launch) will be targeted at youngsters (under 14) with small nimble fingers (and good eyesight) and parents who haven't yet decided what to get them for Christmas.
