I ordered W7 from PC World several months ago and it was certainly worth the wait.
It runs every thing that XP ran and more, it is solid and stable not flaky like Vista. No ' this prog is not compatable' anymore, it just gets on and does the job. Well done Microsoft you have a winner as you did with XP.

I was one who didn't go down the Vista must have route as it looked like a lot of problems which never got sorted out. I am sorry to say I wont go down the Win7 route either as I don't see any point at the moment.

I work for a large US corporation, and our division has only just finished rolling out XP, so I think a switch to Win 7 in the near future is unlikely.
The final XP roll-out was prompted by the removal of standard support for Windows 2000 at the end of the year. So IT did a survey and found we still had several dozen Windows 2000 PCs and quite a lot of Windows 2000 servers. I had 2 servers myself that I asked for upgrades 18 months ago.
As far as I'm aware I also have the only Vista PC in our division, which is used for testing and customer support.

I work for a government department that has only switched form Windows NT to XP in the last 12 months. Therefore, I expect no action in regard to Windows 7 for another 10 years

seems to have stuck with a Windows XP variant.
It'll be many years before 7 is even considered.
