I had no problem re-installing after a re-format.

Have three machines and all have NIS2010. I'm really impressed with this. A while back I stopped using Norton because of how it took over PC's. But this is lean and quick, installed and configured in seconds and updates every few minutes.
It will be interesting soon because I intend to reformat one of the PC's. I don't know if it will activate because I've used all three licences.
NIS replaced Kaspersky which I found to be invasive and fussy.

I buy Avira for 3 PCs but I really need 2 licenses
I always buy Avira Premium from avira.com. I always choose license for 3 PCs and I pick 2 years runtime (it's better deal than just 1 year).
I don't need third license (I have 2 PCs) so I usually give it as a gift for somebody from my family.

It is hard to get license for 2 computers
There are often licenses for 1 or for 3 computers, never for 2. I don't get it!

paulgodd i use Norton 360 and I use mine on 5 pc. It only says three on the box but I used my on 5 pc
