Ah well, copyright rules are never going to be to everyone's liking. We will run other competitions in the future, of that you can be sure.

31,000 entries. This would have been higher, but when the rules where published in the photo forums (strange, but a lot of people do not read the rules) a lot of amateurs did not like the following.
paragraph 11 above grant to the BBC (including BBC Worldwide and other publishers authorised by the BBC) the further rights to publish and exhibit their photographs in print, on their respective websites or in any other media. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses.
PCA have taken quite a bit of flack from the membership including myself, but hopefully you will not be detered and run other photo competitions. From experience I can assure you things will get better.
I was going to enter, but I didn't like the rules on copyright.
This would have been my entry taken in the North Sea near to where I live http://www.photoshop.com/accounts/b82fcb3e4bd34629a298acd953e6ed45/assets/afc6a935c05543b98e113cf332c742fe

The link may work better if I revise it slightly.
http://www.bbccountryfilemagazine.com/photographic-competition to find out.
How many did we plough through? I didn't count, but it was several hundreds.

Link works, but the photo page is temporarily unavailable...Will look later.
3100...Yikes...Out of interest, how many did you at PCA have to plow through?
