Migration frustration

How to transfer five years of contacts

I'm migrating. In fact, a lot of people at IDG are migrating.

We're not flying off to the other side of the world, mind - we're simply changing our email client from Lotus Notes to Outlook. Lotus Notes is, in my opinion and the opinion of a lot of my colleagues, a bit of a pig. Infuriating to learn, unintuitive and buggy. However, having had five years to get used to it it had quite grown on me and, in my own strange way, I'll miss it now it's gone.

And hello Outlook, straightforward and industry standard. Works like a dream. But there was one tiny problem - how to transfer five years worth of contact details from Notes to Outlook. I'll be damned if I'm doing it manually, I thought to myself.

But apparently I'm not the only genius in the company. A colleague found a handy application that could do exactly what I wanted to do perfectly - and at the hurry-up, to boot.

If you have a similar dilemma the app is called Sandbox, and can be found here.
