If you're a serious photographer, you're going to need all the right equipment--in addition to the camera itself, you'll need to carry a multitude of lenses or equipment like flashguns for different environments. Of course, a quick search for the kit you need will tell you that the price soon adds up. Fortunately, 3D printing allows you to dave a few dollars by creating certain lenses.
Instructables member Joe Murphy devised a tutorial to show how you can use 3D printing to make a decent tilt shift adapter for your camera. Tilt shift photography creates a pretty cool miniature effect or a shallow depth of field to your photos. You place the adapter between the camera body and your lens, and the adapter will create the desired effect.
You will need either a 35mm, medium format, or large format, lens, depending on your camera body, to pull this off. You will also need to take careful measurements of your camera and lens to make sure the adapter will fit, and choose the degree of tilt--Joe recommends between 10 and 12 degrees. From there, adjust the adapter to these measurements in a 3D modeling app, and get printing!
