We’ve all seen the idiots driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other clutching a mobile phone, distractedly aiming their cars at pedestrians and cyclists while gossiping to friends about last night’s EastEnders.
Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson is getting a lot of flak about photos of him reportedly driving his green Mercedes while jabbering away on his mobile phone. Daily Mail readers are demanding his head on a plate.
Microsoft’s new ads for its Windows Mobile software feature the prominent statement “It is illegal to use a hand-held mobile phone whilst driving in the UK and Microsoft does not endorse such use.”
However the ad is comprised mainly of video apparently shot from a speeding vehicle (driver side) through cities such as London and Paris, mainly at night. The car shooting video over London’s Tower Bridge even over-takes another road user.
Should an accident have occurred it would be very likely that the reckless driver would certainly be extremely mobile through his windows, although a lot less mobile thereafter.
