Cook Says Lives Enriched Matters More Than Money Made: Interview (Bloomberg)

You've already heard that Tim Cook plans on moving some of Apple's manufacturing to here in the U.S., but you may not have taken the time to read the wide-ranging interview with him at Bloomberg. While there are a lot of interesting details in there, such as the rationale behind Forstall and Browett's departures, his philosophy, and the emails that he gets, but the most important tidbit is the fantastic head of hair that Cook had when he was a freshman in college.

Apple-HTC settlement unsealed: No "cloned products," no helping trolls (Ars Technica)

Prior to a forthcoming hearing, Samsung insisted that Apple's deal with HTC be unsealed. That settlement contained a few interesting facts, including that Apple can force arbitration on HTC if Cupertino believes the Taiwan-based company has a product that hews too closely to one of Apple's, and that's there a clause that prevents HTC from dealing with patent trolls. Also, Peter Chou's firstborn is now officially a ward of Lord Cook at Infinite Loopfell.

Apple Hires Hacker Who Helped Save Windows From Security Hell (Wired)

Kristin Paget, a security researcher whose previous gig was eliminating bugs for another big operating system company, is now dealing with security-related tasks in Cupertino. While Paget has confirmed the move, there are no further details about exactly what the job entails. I'm really hopeful that in a year I'll be able to install malware all over my computer with nary an ill effect.
