According to my entirely unscientific research, there’s more innovation on the mobile phone at the moment than any other technology, possibly.
It’s driven by necessity as much as a desire to help you get more from your handset: mobile phone shipments are growing, but there’s been a trend towards entry-level, budget phones, and that’s hitting suppliers’ profits. They need to encourage us to fork out for fancier phones with larger screens and more powerful processors because those are the models that warrant the higher price tags.
But the question is: will any of the technologies above convince you splash out?
