Bowie proves Twitter ain't cool

It used to be cool to be on Twitter, but I think those days are numbered.

News that the masterly wit Stephen Fry is the fifth most followed Twitterer worldwide and by far the biggest Twitterer outside the US, with more than 63,000 people following him was swiftly followed by news of much-lesser wits Russell Brand (8,000+) and Jonathan Ross (14,000) hot on his tail.

That it's maybe cooler not to be a Twitterer than be one is surely proved by a statement by Thin White Duke David Bowie, who has had to deny a bunch of rumours emanating from a fake Bowie Twit.

"David Bowie does not have a Twitter account," says the great man on his website, DavidBowie.com.
