Deeply disturbing news reaches us from the Beeb, of unsporting rotters selling hard-won Blue Peter badges on eBay. The programme has now suspended the free access to events and attractions that traditionally accompany the right to wear the hallowed badge.
The sellers are making money off the back of the museums and galleries that graciously allow high-achieving youngsters to enter for free. I'm sure you'll agree that it's a sad day when you can buy something that is supposed to be awarded for merit. I'm less sure that some of the newer peers in the House of Lords would agree.
Anyway, I hope there's someone guarding the Blue Peter garden.
