Final Fantasy VII’s Midgar Gets Completely Reconstructed in Minecraft

This full reconstruction Midgar City from Final Fantasy VII might be one of the coolest Minecraft-gaming mashups we've seen.

This week’s incredible Minecraft build is a full reconstruction of Midgar, the capital city of the Final Fantasy VII’s World Map. And when I say it's been completely reconstructed, I mean completely reconstructed.

Every iconic building is there--from the nine Mako reactors to Shinra HQ with all those #$%& stairs to Aerith's Church. The rest of the city details are fleshed out, too, complete with that seemingly endless highway, the seedy under-city Wall Market, and the Highwind flying over for some reason.

This incredible Minecraft Midgar build comes from Chris Campbell, who specializes in massive builds such as Shutter Island and Balamb Garden from Final Fantasy VIII.

If you want to check out more of this rendition of Midgar, you can watch Campbell’s insane 22-minute walkthrough of his Minecraft city. Campbell also posted free downloads of the map and texture pack so you can explore it on your own.

Don’t forget to support Campbell (makavelibranded4@yahoo.com on paypal) if you like his work.
